Why these cards exist

I didn't have a dad growing up. That absence left gaps — in confidence, in knowing how to navigate the world, in having someone who sat down and actually talked to me about the hard stuff.

When I became a dad, I made a decision: my kid was going to have everything I didn't. That meant real conversations. Safety knowledge she could actually use. And a home where no topic was off-limits.

These cards started as something I made for my own daughter. Then I thought — why keep them to myself? Every kid deserves a parent who shows up prepared. Print them, cut them, and start the conversation tonight.

This is how we break the chain.

About the family behind these cards

🥋Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. I teach street-applicable, real-world self-defense for men — not sport, not theory.
💪My wife and I have taught women's self-defense classes and anti-child trafficking workshops in Nepal and here at home.
🌏Personal safety isn't just a hobby for us. It's a value system — one we're passing down to the next generation.
🏠Real estate investor, IT professional, and a dad who believes knowledge is the first line of defense.

Sample cards

Here's a peek at what's inside each set — every card has a question, a short answer, and a hint at the bottom so your little one never gets stuck.

If you could have any superpower, what would you pick and why?

Hint: Flying? Super speed? Invisibility? There's no wrong answer!
Who makes you feel loved?

Hint: Tell me about someone who gives you the warmest, happiest feeling.
If you could fly anywhere right now, where would you go?

Hint: The beach? Grandma's house? Somewhere you've never been?
What made you feel really proud today?

Hint: Something you did, learned, or tried for the first time?
What's something you want to show me?

Hint: A drawing, a trick, a dance move — I want to see it!
If you could make up a new ice cream flavor, what would it be?

Hint: Chocolate pizza? Rainbow sprinkle soup? Go wild!
🛡️ MY BODY · 1A
Mommy asks "Can I hug you?" and you say yes and it feels warm and happy. Is that okay?
Yes! When a touch feels happy and safe, that's a good touch.

Hint: Safe hugs from people you love feel warm and good!
🛡️ MY BODY · 1B
Someone says "Come sit on my lap" and your tummy feels weird or wrong. Do you have to?
No. You are the boss of your body. You can say no to anyone.

Hint: Say "No thank you!" to anyone, anytime. Even grown-ups you know.
🛡️ SECRETS · 8B
Someone touches you and says "Don't tell your mom and dad — it's our secret." What do you do?
That is never okay. Secrets about bodies always get told to mom or dad.

Hint: Tell mom or dad right away. You will NEVER be in trouble for telling.
🛡️ TRICKY PEOPLE · 10B
Someone you don't know says "I have candy and chocolate for you — come with me!" What do you do?
No. People who love you don't need to lure you away with candy.

Hint: Say NO and find mom or dad right away. We give you treats — not strangers.
🛡️ SAFE TOUCH · 4A
Grandma gives you a big squeeze and you laugh and feel happy. What kind of touch is that?
That's a safe touch! Safe touches feel warm, happy, and kind.

Hint: Safe touches make you smile — hugs from family, high fives, holding hands.
🛡️ ALWAYS TELL
What if something felt wrong and someone told you to keep it secret — and you were scared to tell us?
You will NEVER be in trouble for telling us. We will always believe you. Always.

Hint: There is nothing you could tell us that would make us stop loving you.
🔍 IF LOST · 5A
You look up at the store and you can't find mom or dad. Should you run around looking everywhere?
No. Stay right where you are. Moving around makes it harder for mom and dad to find you.

Hint: STOP. Stay still. Mom and dad are already looking for you.
🔍 ASK FOR HELP · 7A
You're lost and you see a lady with a blue jacket. Can you practice what you would say to her?
Point right at her: "You! Lady in the blue jacket! I can't find my mommy! Please help me!"

Hint: One person. Describe what they're wearing. Say exactly what you need.
🔍 CODE WORD · 8B
Someone you don't know well says "Your mommy sent me to pick you up." How do you know if that's true?
Ask them for the family code word. If they don't know it, say NO.

Hint: Only go with someone who knows our special code word. Even if they seem really nice.
🔍 YELL RUN TELL
If someone ever grabbed your arm and tried to take you somewhere, what would you do?
Yell as LOUD as you can: "THIS IS NOT MY MOM! HELP!" Run toward people.

Hint: Make as much noise as possible. Yell, kick, scream. Never go quietly.
🔍 KNOW YOUR INFO · 9B
Can you remember mommy or daddy's phone number? Let's practice it together.
Knowing one phone number by heart means you can always call for help.

Hint: Practice saying the number out loud every day until you know it by heart.
🔍 UH-OH FEELING
You're at the store and someone nearby makes you feel funny or scared in your tummy. What do you do?
Trust that feeling. Move close to mom or dad right away and tell them.

Hint: Your uh-oh feeling is your superpower. Always trust it. Always tell us.
